Mr. Saqer is a leading public figure in Jordan, and has a rich career that Extends over 30 years in the contest of large and fast changing organizations. On a national level, Mr. Saqer’s contribution was pivotal in shaping Jordan’s economic strategies for the IT and telecom sector, where he is a member of many forums and committees to plan various activities and economic initiatives.
In 2010, Mr. Saqer was appointed as the Chief Commissioner of ASEZA (Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority), which is a Governor position to manage and overlook the city of Aqaba in Jordan, and shape the economic strategies for this vital area.
In 2003, Eng. Saqer held the position of CEO at Fastlink, recently Zain Jordan, where he led the company and positioned it as the leading mobile service provider in Jordan with a regional reputation of excellence. Under his leadership and with his strategic insight the company's market share reached 70%, its subscriber's base increased from 600.000 to 2 million and its profits witnessed an increase of 500%.
Prior to this and in 1998, Eng. Saqer was the Vice-President and Head of the Technical Department at LebanCell. With his technical and managerial experience, he was appointed as International Operations Manager for installing GSM networks in Iran and Armenia.
Between 1994 and 1998 Eng. Saqer worked as Business Development Manager for Motorola CIG in Lebanon, where he was responsible for the GSM unit with a remit of responsibilities in Jordan, Palestine and Syria.
Mr. Saqer is part of many successful business ventures, where he is a co-founder and major shareholder of Shira for Real Estate Development and Investment, which is a leading real estate company in Jordan. He is also a co-founder and major shareholder in the Arab Company for Science & Technology (Qasyoun University).
